Two thousand acres in Panchagarh farmed without a single synthetic input, audited every year and sold into Europe, Japan and North America.
Kazi & Kazi took flat, unpromising land in the far north of Bangladesh and made it the country’s first certified organic tea estate. Not one synthetic fertiliser, pesticide or herbicide has been used on it since the first bush went in.
The garden is farmed as a whole system — cattle, vermicompost, biogas, shade planting and a workforce that lives on the estate. The certification is the consequence of how it is run, not the reason for it.
