Natural fibre
Gemcon Jute
Natural fibre, spun and woven for a market moving away from plastic.
Core capabilities
Built to do a few things exceptionally well
Raw jute, yarn and diversified goods, produced under the golden-fibre programme and shipped to more than twenty countries.
Jute was Bangladesh’s first export industry and it is becoming one of its most modern. Gemcon Jute buys, grades, spins and weaves the golden fibre, and increasingly turns it into products that replace plastic outright.
The mill runs on contract weaving as well as its own book, which keeps the looms full and the growers we buy from planting again next season.
